Dissertation Prize (Lohmann Prize)
For the first time in 2009 Lohmann Animal Health GmbH Co. KG (LAH), Cuxhaven, awarded prizes for outstanding dissertations written on practice-oriented work in the field of farmed poultry with regard to health, hygiene, nutrition, food safety and animal welfare.
Junior scientists of veterinary medicine and their respective scientific institutions (institutes, clinics) were honoured.
From 2009 onwards a first and second prize will be awarded every two years. The prizes are endowed with €2000 and €1000 respectively for the doctoral candidates and €15000 or €8000 for the corresponding institute or clinic.
Dissertations in German or English language which have been completed and submitted to Lohmann Animal Health by the end of August of the respective year will be taken into consideration. All papers should be made available by the supervisor of the dissertation concerned in pdf format (CD / DVD / email).
Lohmann Animal Health is a manufacturer of poultry vaccines and feed additives. It is a member of the Paul-Heinz-Wesjohann Group (PHW), a global player in the fields of nutrition, health and agriculture. Scientists from the entire PHW-Group will belong to the brains trust that will recommend the papers to recieve the Lohmann Prize.
