Lohmann Animal Health’s premiere at the AVA-cattle symposium
Lohmann Animal Health is highly satisfied with its first participation in this year’s cattle symposium organised by the Agrar- und Veterinär-Akademie Horstmar (AVA).
Dipl. Ing. agr. Frank Menn, Sales Manager at Lohmann Animal Health, gave lectures at a total of 11 of the events on the subjects “oxidative stress” and “negative energy balance”. The AVA-cattle symposium is one of the most important meetings in the field of beef and dairy cattle husbandry with representatives from academia, the feed industry, agriculturists and veterinarians in Germany.
Between November 2010 and January 2011 around 1,600 trade visitors attended the AVA cattle symposium. Frank Menn explains, “the topics ‘oxidative stress’ and ‘negative energy balance’ provided plenty of material for discussion at a scientific level and were well received by the professional audience”.
Lohmann Animal Health is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and providers of feed additives. With the products Loxidan® and Carnipass™ Lohmann Animal Health provides suitable solutions for the health of beef cattle and dairy cows. Loxidan® commences its activity in the feed working against the formation of oxidation products, thus helping to avoid oxidative stress. Carnipass™ is a rumen-stable source of L-carnitine which provides the opportunity of supporting the metabolism of the cow in a negative energy balance situation, thus reducing costs for veterinary treatments and ensuring a continually high level of performance.
Effervescent granules for drinking water
Lohmann Animal Health has introduced a world innovation, AviPro® Granule onto the market. Granules have been produced in Cuxhaven since the end of last year with the aid of a specially developed formulation technology. These granules dissolve effervescently and without trace in drinking water.
Just like AviPro® Granule BX, a prize-winning formulation of B-complex vitamins and vitamin K3, which Lohmann is already distributing successfully in many European countries. Congenial to the summer the company has now launched a further product: AviPro Granule Anilyte, the isotonic drink against heat stress in poultry.
This mixture which is tailored to the increased requirements of electrolytes further encourages water uptake due to its fine aniseed note.
